Rockstar Games announced that he had acquired a Sydney -based developer called Video Games Deluxe. The studio was founded in 2013 by former Team Bondi founder Brendan Mcnamara. Video Games Deluxe has cooperated with Rockstar La Noire and in 2017 for the re -publication of La Noire: The VR Case Files in 2017. More recently, the developer has also worked to improve the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
Rockstar Games Publishing President Jennifer Kolbe said in a statement: “After working together for many years, we are excited to join the team as Rockstar Australia.”
Video Games Deluxe founder Brendan McNamara added: “It was an honor to work closely with Rockstar Games in the past decade. We are excited to be a part of Rockstar Games and to continue our efforts to make the best possible games. ”
It has not yet been announced how much the purchase was made for a fee. In July 2020, the studio was looking for employees for the open world virtual reality game for Rockstar. On the other hand, considering a complete lack of growth in virtual reality games, it is unlikely that the project is still working. Video Games Deluxe will support Rockstar’s production for the Grand Theft Auto 6, which is planned to be released this fall this fall.
