Ephesus Experience Museum chose Panasonic DLP laser projectors for large-scale images and high brightness requirements at 4K resolution.
The Ephesus Experience Museum used Panasonic’s advanced DLP laser projection technology in a groundbreaking installation to bring the ancient trading city of Ephesus to life as an immersive experience for visitors. Located in the historically rich region of Turkey, Selçuk, and built in an important archaeological site, the museum features 123 museums to provide its visitors with an almost life-like experience of daily life in Ancient Ephesus with the “immersive” technologies that are just becoming widespread in the world and in Turkey. It uses a Panasonic DLP laser projector.
A Modern Miracle in a Historical Setting
Ancient Ephesus, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was one of the important trade centers of the Mediterranean region. Ephesus Experience Museum, developed and operated by DEM Museology and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, enriches the visitor experience in the archaeological site. Earlier this year, the Ephesus Experience Museum was named “Best Museum” at the US Mondo-Dr Awards, which honor prestigious projects in the exhibition and hospitality industry worldwide. Ephesus Experience Museum, which has been operating since August 2023, has already gained international attention and reputation.
Visual stories presenting myth and reality intertwined in 17 different languages take museum visitors to the streets, festivals, temples, houses, bazaars and markets of Ephesus in ancient times. The museum’s multi-sensory features include the “mapping” technique that integrates 360-degree images with the floor and ceiling, and synchronously moving light, fog and holographic reflections in addition to acoustic 3D sound effects. All these features create a vibrant, engaging and educational experience for visitors.
Transformative Visual Technology
The museum uses 123 Panasonic DLP laser projectors, known for their exceptional color quality and high brightness, to bring the rich history of Ephesus to life. These projectors provide the unique image quality required for the realistic and immersive visual storytelling that makes the Ephesus Experience Museum special.
Additionally, the projectors’ robust and aesthetic design ensures consistent performance while requiring minimal maintenance. The use of a variety of Panasonic lenses, including Ultra Short Throw Throw Angle lenses, enables flexible installation and expands the visitor experience by providing optimum shadow-free image quality.
In one of the most interesting sections of the museum, 90 Panasonic DLP projectors and an advanced speaker system recreate an ancient earthquake, offering visitors a historical, impressive and unforgettable experience.
DEM Museology CEO Eda Doğrucioğlu shared the following about the museum: “Panasonic projectors played a very important role in achieving our vision of providing visitors with an immersive historical experience. “Their reliability and quality enabled us to bring the story of Ephesus to life in a way that will fascinate and educate our visitors.”
