France-based music streaming service Deezer announced a new feature called “Playlist with AI” that allows you to create artificial intelligence-generated music playlists by giving text commands.
The company announced that the AI-powered feature is currently available in beta to 5% of Deezer’s randomly selected paying subscribers. According to the company, the artificial intelligence playlist feature will be available to all Deezer subscribers worldwide in the coming period. As part of the beta, selected Deezer users will be able to create custom playlists based on mood, genre, decade, activity or more.
Deezer already has a feature called Flow, which uses artificial intelligence to play a never-ending, personalized mix of new recommendations, favorite songs, artists, and genres. There is also a Shazam-like feature called SongCatcher built into the app to detect unknown songs and get information about their artists.
There is currently no information about the global launch date of the artificial intelligence-enabled playlist feature. As a reminder, the beta comes just a few months after Swedish music streaming giant Spotify released its AI-based playlist creator in beta.
