Asus has created an important rival to Valve’s Steam Deck with its ROG Ally portable gaming computer, which was released in June 2023. Now it is said that Asus is working on the second generation version of ROG Ally. In fact, Asus ROG Ally 2 may be introduced in 2024.
The website Techlusive got some information from Asus India Vice President Arnold Su during a press event. According to the site, Su said: “. . . We will most likely launch the second generation handheld game console this year. “We will still keep Windows features, but we will focus more on games.”
Continuing to use Windows and focusing more on gaming suggests that the next ROG Ally will have a more gaming-centric UI, perhaps running on Windows 11. Su did not share any more information about the second generation ROG Ally.
Since the launch of the ROG Ally, other major PC manufacturers have entered the portable gaming PC market, and some even use the Windows 11 operating system. Lenovo Legion Go and MSI Claw are examples of these.
