Borderlands Movie Trailer Released

The first trailer for the movie directed by Eli Roth, which has been eagerly awaited by fans of the Borderlands game series, has been released and the trailer looks really good.

The Borderlands movie tells the story of alien outlaw Lilith, a wanted woman from the planet Pandora, who returns to her homeworld in search of a legendary vault said to be full of priceless treasures. Lilith is played by Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett.

Even though Lilith knows her way around Pandora, she knows that the best way to find the vault is to go hunting with a team, along with mercenary Roland (Kevin Hart) and mad scientist Dr. Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) takes on the wrecker Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Tiny Tina’s enforcer Krieg (Florian Munteanu), and the robot Claptrap (Jack Black).

The trailer shows how effectively Roth and cinematographer Rogier Stoffers have approached the signature cel-shaded style of the Borderlands games, and it’s quite pleasing. The sense of humor of the game series is also transferred well to the film.

Borderlands will be in theaters on August 9.
