Capcom announced that it has purchased two-thirds of the shares of Minimum Studios, a Taiwan-based animation production company. It is noteworthy that the paid-in capital is less than 30,000 dollars.
Capcom explains the reason for the acquisition: “Taiwan-based Minimum Studios’ strength lies in animation production for consumer home video game development, and the studio has worked on major Capcom games in the past. Capcom decided to make the studio its subsidiary to sustainably support its developmental and technological capabilities, aiming to reach its long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.
“Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of technological capabilities necessary to enhance its game development organization.”
Founded in August 2018, Minimum Studios had previously contributed in-game and cutscene animations to Capcom games such as Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 and Dragon’s Dogma 2.
On the other hand, let us remind you that the Capcom Next Summer 2024 event will also be held tonight.
