Android Police, known for its leaks, has revealed an interesting code sequence that shows that a new feature called adaptive touch sensitivity will come to Google Pixel phones. Judging by the code itself, it could enable Pixel phones to adjust the screen’s touch sensitivity based on environmental factors, activity, or whether a screen protector has been applied.
The Pixel 8 series can already detect a screen protector, and once you apply it, the system prompts you to increase touch sensitivity. Thanks to the new feature, the screen will become more comfortable to use in many different scenarios.
For example: When the weather is cold, its sensitivity will increase so you can use the phone with your gloves, or on a rainy day, its sensitivity will decrease due to extra humidity or rain to reduce accidental touches. Finally, let’s add that it is not yet known whether old Google Pixel phones or only future phones will support the feature.
