Apple has uploaded various support documentation for the Vision Pro mixed reality headset. One of the new support documents explains how to clean the Vision Pro headset and accessories.
According to the document, giving the Vision Pro a good clean isn’t as simple as wiping around the iPhone or MacBook with a cloth. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro has an IP68 water resistance rating and is a single-piece device. On the other hand, Vision Pro contains many parts that you can disassemble at any time. In addition, there is currently no information on the product page about the water and dust resistance of the device.
Apple has detailed how to clean various parts of the Apple Vision Pro. For example, screens, light insulation, curtain, audio belt, battery, power cable, ZEISS optics, etc. You can find cleaning instructions. There’s even a guide on cleaning the Apple Vision Pro polishing cloth.
The company also warns against using disinfectants such as “isopropyl alcohol, Windex, Clorox, or similar products to clean the hard, non-porous surfaces of the Apple Vision Pro.” The document recommends cleaning the headset with a dry cloth, a slightly damp cloth or using special instructions.
Vision Pro can currently be purchased in the USA with a price tag of $ 3,500.
