Along with the current CPUs, X870E and X870 chipsets were also announced at Computex 2024. AMD, which is preparing to launch Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors to the retail market, will ship the new motherboards at the end of September, with a slight delay.
It is said that the new 800 series motherboards will be released close to the Ryzen 9000X3D launch. We should also point out that there is no official information about X3D yet. Ryzen 9000 processors that do not benefit from 3D V-Cache technology go on sale on July 31. X870 motherboards with the upgraded design will be released in late September. Customers who want to buy one of the new Zen 5 processors will have to turn to one of the 700 series motherboards.
The new AM5 motherboards will not only have an updated design, but will also support new I/O features, especially USB4. In addition to USB4 support, PCIe Gen5 support will be offered as standard in both graphics and M.2 NVMe slots.
Improvements were also made on the RAM side. While support for higher EXPO OC speeds is provided, users are enabled to benefit from DDR5 memory kits that can reach high speeds. Many motherboard manufacturers unveiled their latest designs at Computex. However, considering the situation, a postponement was made due to unknown reasons. Here are the new features coming with AMD X870E and X870 motherboards:
- USB 4.0 standard on all X870/X870E motherboards.
- PCIe Gen5 graphics card and NVMe support on all X870/X870E models.
- High EXPO memory clock speed support on X870/X870E motherboards.
