Paper Trail, the game that allows you to fold the world around you, is finally coming out after various delays. Accordingly, the game will take its place on the market on May 21.
Developed and published by Newfangled Games, Paper Trail combines craft-inspired art with a unique folding mechanic that lets you fold and twist your environment to connect new paths and solve puzzles. “Twist, twist, twist, twist the fabric of your world as you try to solve the Paper Trail puzzle,” the game description reads.
The game’s art style matches the folding mechanics and draws inspiration from flat aesthetic styles such as printmaking and watercolor. In the game, you play as Paige, an 18-year-old aspiring astrophysicist with no-nonsense parents. Paige is going to college to pursue her career in scientific research. The developer describes the game as easy to pick up but hard to master, and you can imagine how the game can challenge your brain as it increases in intensity and complexity as you reach later levels.
Paper Trail will be available on PC (Steam), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Switch consoles and the Netflix mobile app (iOS and Android) on May 21.
