The latest firmware update for PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) enables PC access. This means the title will likely run on PC via direct connection.
by iVRy As reported in X, the latest firmware update for the headset ensures that there is no longer a need to use drivers or hardware workarounds to get the headset working in Windows. On the other hand, it is too early to tell whether the update will enable the use of NVIDIA. Meanwhile, the headset will need some sort of “VirtualLink” adapter due to its design, and Sony will need to provide this adapter to users if it plans to release official PC drivers. Nothing in the headset’s firmware suggests Sony might be using a streaming solution, either.
Making PSVR 2 work on PC without the PlayStation 5 game console will definitely increase the popularity of the title significantly and help the company sell its existing products. Let’s see when PC support will be officially available to everyone.
