Both AMD and Intel will launch their new generation processors this year. We mentioned that there would be a slight delay in the Ryzen 9000 Series. Sales will probably start in the first weeks of August. On the other hand, Intel has not yet officially announced the processors we expect with the code name Arrow Lake-S. However, just because they do not announce it does not mean that there will be no leaks.
Hardware leaker Jaykihn shared various benchmarks for an Arrow Lake-S processor tested at 250W. The unnamed Intel CPU is up to 18% faster than the current flagship Core i9-14900K, according to the results.
Intel Arrow Lake CPU Performance
The benchmark table includes two Arrow Lake processors and the 14900K. One of the Arrow Lake chips that were tested is an engineering example, and the other is a qualification example. The proficiency sample is naturally a more ready-made CPU and gives better results. Unfortunately, the CPU name and features are not mentioned. However, according to estimates, both results belong to the 24-core flagship Core Ultra 9 285K.
The three chips are reported to operate at as high as 250W. CrossMark, Geekbench 5.4.5 and Cinebench R23 scores reveal that the Arrow Lake-S processor outperforms the Core i9-14900K. However, WebXPRT4 and Speedometer (both running in Chrome) show more positive results for the Core i9-14900K.
The Arrow Lake-S qualifying sample was 6% faster than the Core i9-14900K in CrossMark, scoring 2,587 points versus the Core i9-14900K’s 2,432 points. As for Geekbench, it is 9% faster than the Core i9-14900K in the single-core benchmark and 14% faster in the multi-core benchmark. The differences are widening in Cinebench R23. The upcoming processor is 18% more powerful than the i9-14900K.
The Core i9-14900K, on the other hand, was faster in Chrome-based tests. WebXPRT4 says the Raptor Lake Refresh flagship is 4% better. On the speedometer, the difference is 10%.
