As expected, Microsoft officially announced the Windows 11 Moment 5 update at the end of February 2024. The update is now rolling out gradually, and Microsoft plans to fully enable the new features in optional non-security updates in March 2024. Compatible devices will automatically receive the Moment 5 update on April 9, 2024, as part of April 2024 Patch Tuesday.
What Does Windows 11 Moment 5 Offer?
Moment 5 includes accessibility, sharing, Windows 365, screen casting, Windows Settings, etc. A relatively minor update focused on improvement. The update also includes improvements to Windows Autopatch to give IT administrators more control and simplify update management.
Here is a short list of new features in Windows 11 Moment 5:
- Voice Access now supports more languages, custom commands, and additional actions.
- Narrator now lets you preview natural audio, use a new keyboard shortcut for image annotations, and more.
- Windows now lets you share content with more applications.
- Windows may suggest helpful links if you’re having screen casting and connection issues while multitasking.
- Snap Layouts can predict which apps you want to arrange in which layout.
- New features for Windows 365 like private mode, passwordless authentication, fast account switching, and more.

Those who do not want to wait until April 2024 will be able to install the update immediately. To do this, go to Settings > Windows Update and turn on “Get the latest updates as soon as possible”.
