MediaTek Dimensity 8050 features
MediaTek changed the nomenclature to eliminate the confusion that arose with the Dimensity 1300 and 1200 series. The Dimensity 8050 model, which basically has the same features as the Dimensity 1300, will be produced by TSMC with 6nm technology called N6.
The processor, which is stated to be octa-core, has 1 x 3.0GHz ARM Cortex-A78, 3 x 2.6GHz ARM Cortex-A78 and 4 x 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The graphics interface of the processor is ARM Mali-G77 with 9 cores.
MediaTek announced that the Dimensity 8050 model will support up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage technologies. Smartphone manufacturers will be able to use a 2520 x 1080 pixel panel with a 168Hz screen refresh rate with the new processor.
5G technology, which has become a standard in the middle-upper segment market, is also supported in the Dimensity 8050 model. However, MediaTek announced that the new processor has support for 4K video recording. It should be noted that 200 Megapixel cameras can be used on smartphones with Dimensity 8050 processor.
MediaTek stated that the Dimensity 8050 will support GPS L1CA+L5, BeiDou B1I+ B2a, Glonass L1OF, Galileo E1 + E5a, QZSS L1CA+ L5 and NavIC satellite technologies. It was announced that the first model produced with the new processor is the Tecno Camon 20 Premier 5G.
