It was announced that Alan Wake 2, released by Remedy Entertainment 13 years after the release of Alan Wake, exceeded 1.3 million sales and became the company’s fastest-selling game ever. The game had already sold 1 million units at the beginning of 2024, and the latest 300 thousand units were sold only in the last 2 months. The studio also shared that its previous game, Control, has sold over 4 million units since its launch in 2019, generating revenue of approximately 100 million euros.
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala shared that the game’s price point remains high and has already covered a significant portion of its development and marketing expenses. Virtala underlined that they will continue to develop the game to serve existing fans and attract new players and expect the sales of the game to continue.
Remedy has already announced that it is working on two story expansions for Alan Wake 2. These expansions will be available to players later this year.
