Xbox players have long awaited the arrival of Final Fantasy 14, and the game is coming to Microsoft console very soon. The Xbox Series S|X open beta test of the game is planned to start on February 21. While explaining how to participate in the test, Square Enix also announced that the full version of Final Fantasy 14 for Xbox will require a Game Pass subscription. In this sense, it will be necessary to have a Core subscription equivalent to the old Xbox Live Gold.
On the other hand, this still means that Final Fantasy 14 fans on Xbox will have to pay a 2-month subscription. This is because the game itself is among the very few MMORPGs that still use a subscription business model. Moreover, let’s not forget to say that the same situation does not require a PS Plus subscription on PlayStation to play the game.
The Xbox Series X|S version is planned to be released immediately after the open beta test is completed. Final Fantasy 14 game data will be transferred and you will not need to re-download the game to play. The timing of data transfer and official release for Xbox Series X|S will be announced at a later date.
Final Fantasy 14 will get a new expansion called Dawntrail later this summer.
