WhatsApp has been working on the feature of adding third-party chats to the application for a long time. We came across information about this feature, which was developed to comply with DMA regulations, in previous beta versions of WhatsApp.
A user from TheSpAndroid site posted a video showing WhatsApp enabling third-party chat support. In the published video, it is obvious that the user interface is compatible with the previously available details.
According to the video, the option to enable third-party chats is available in the Accounts section of the app. When you enable this feature, WhatsApp warns you that you are messaging someone in a third-party application.
The app will let you choose third-party apps during the onboarding process. Note that while the company does not share your name or profile photo, third-party apps may have access to your phone number.
If you disable third-party chats, you will no longer be able to send or receive messages. In this case, your existing conversations will also become read-only. However, since this feature is still in development, differences may occur when it becomes generally available.
